Does my file ever leave my browser?
No. Every tool runs entirely as client-side JavaScript. The paper you design is drawn as a live preview and exported to a PDF locally on your device — nothing is uploaded to a server. See the Privacy Policy for details.
How do I print at the correct, actual size?
Open the downloaded PDF and set your printer's scaling option to Actual Size or 100%. Do not use "Fit to Page" or "Shrink to Fit" — both resize the grid, so your printed spacing will no longer match what you selected in the tool. This applies to every tool on the site.
Which grid spacing should I use for math homework?
1/4 inch (or 1 cm for metric classrooms) is the standard spacing for most algebra and geometry homework. Switch to 1/8 inch or 5 mm for finer graphing work, such as plotting functions that need more resolution.
What spacing is best for a bullet journal?
5 mm dot grid is the most widely used bullet journal spacing — enough room for handwriting and boxes while staying compact for dense layouts. Try the Dot Grid Paper preset to start there.
Can I generate A4 paper instead of US Letter?
Yes. Use the Paper Size dropdown to choose A4, Legal, A5, or US Letter, in either portrait or landscape orientation. The grid recalculates instantly to fit the new page size.
Does this tool work offline?
Once the page has loaded once, both the live preview and the PDF generation run entirely in your browser without contacting a server, so the tool keeps working even on an unreliable connection.
Will my settings be saved?
Yes. Your last-used paper type, spacing, color, and size are saved in your browser's local storage, so they're ready the next time you open the tool on the same device and browser. See the Privacy Policy for details.
What is isometric graph paper used for?
Isometric graph paper has three sets of lines at 30°, 90°, and 150°, forming a triangular grid. It's used to sketch 3D objects and cubes without perspective distortion, and is popular for technical illustration and tabletop game map design. See Isometric Graph Paper.
Can I change the line color?
Yes. Pick one of the four presets (light gray, blue, green, black) or choose any custom color with the color picker in the Line Color section.
What does "heavier line every N" do?
It draws a bolder reference line every few grid units, similar to classic engineering graph paper. This makes it much faster to count squares at a glance across a larger diagram or chart.
